Connie Caldwell Summer Internship Award

In partnership with Syracuse University, this award is given to a student from the School of Architecture each summer who has secured a unique internship opportunity. The financial support provides a means to offset the high cost of living students must face in major markets nationally or internally.

Connie Caldwell led the School of Architecture’s career services operation for several decades, originally joining the School in 1994. During her time, Connie was widely recognized by the profession as a pioneer in her role because of her ability to guide and connect some of the best architectural students with many of the very best architectural firms in the world.

In 2013, DesignIntelligence named Connie as one of the 30 Most Admired Educators from the architecture, industrial design, interior design and landscape architecture disciplines. Connie retired in 2018 after more than 20 years of dedicated service. Many of the professionals and educators on campus credit Caldwell’s work in preparing students for professional life as the primary reason Syracuse University's School of Architecture was ranked #1 in 2019 for most hired alumni in the nation by DesignIntelligence.

The program was first awarded in 2020.
